“”To Know and not to do is not to know.”” – Zen saying.

Dear Reader,

I remember a story my Uncle John told me when I was a very young boy. He had been a champion swimmer and diver, and was considered to be the revered athlete in the family. Then one day he was faced with a difficult decision. He had to choose between the two sports he loved, in order to be selected to represent his Country (including the Olympics). Diving is what he chose, and he went on to win many events and awards. What always fascinated me was his reason for choosing diving. It was because diving was the sport that scared him most, and was his biggest fear and challenge.

As I have grown and moved through life, I have found that I am motivated by most challenges. The harder and bigger the challenge, the more I am motivated. Fear of failure has most definitely played a big part in shaping my life. One does not become an entrepreneur without having to face challenges everyday. I read the other day, that owning your own business is equivalent to being been slapped in the face 17 times a day. Working for a big business, on the other hand, often isolates one to the politics within your own department. That is, only a few slaps a day. As a businesses owner I so easily relate to that statement. Getting back to the point of my story My take on life is that it's a journey. If we are not constantly learning and experiencing new things, then we stop growing. No pain no gain.
Having been fortunate enough to have had great people in my life to both learn from and to be part of my team, I have made it a goal of mine to help people see how much is possible if they face their fears. Ninety percent of the time conquering ones fears is where your greatest learning comes from. When we actually face our fear, and do what we know we have to do, we find that we can achieve our goals. Sometimes the most significant results prevail when we learn that we can do anything, and everything is possible.
So to start the process, make a list of all the things you are not doing because they are too difficult, they scare you, or you think you will fail. Then just do it, Now! I promise you, you will surprise yourself and grow to a whole new level
Enjoy your summer! Play with your kids, have fun, and challenge yourself by doing something that you have never done before.
