What’s Your Story?

What’s Your Story?

Once again, this year is moving along at a rapid pace. We just published our March issue. It is no longer the beginning of the year. Time to take a moment and remember all your hopes and dreams you had planned for yourself this year. Take action now!!!

Over Christmas, my daughter flew off, alone to South Africa for a few weeks to be with her Nana and have some time being spoiled. What little girl does not want to have Granny all to themselves? My daughter loves challenging herself by going off on her own. She knows it’s not easy but believes it will make her stronger for when she must go off to college in the not-to-distant future.

While our daughter was off on her adventure, my wife and I went off to the Caribbean on a cruise. We wanted to just relax, be in the hot sun, and swim and play in that magnificently beautiful blue clean water. Having spent so many years living in the Caribbean, it’s one of our favorite places to return, when we need to time re-charge.

Looking back at 2018, it was both exciting and challenging. Moving into a new home has certainly put us under a lot more pressure. Thank goodness for having the magazine and knowing who we should use to do multiple alterations on our home. There truly are many wonderful people that care about the work they perform. “No sales pitch; just telling it how it is.” Many of the business owners, I have known for 10+ years. Thank you for making it happen.

Anyway, getting away, as you know, really helps to clear the head and bring perspective to all the things going on in your head. You get time to reorganize your list and let go of some issues because you realize they are not worth the stress.

My two big take-aways that are helping shape this year for me are-

Turn Fear into Excitement! In talking with so many people, both in my business, our clients, friends and family. I have come to the realization why, so few people achieve success. The facts are very clear. Only 5% of people in this world are financially successful. That’s right only 5%.  It really comes down to knowing what you want your life to look like. Then acting with everything you have constantly over a long time It’s hard- going to have to do things that scare the ***! out of you and take risks. Failure and success come together as partners on this journey. Yes, you will fail along the way, but that’s normal. Keep going. Today we expect things to just happen and when they don’t, we change course and do something else. As any great athlete will tell you before a race. Are you nervous? They will always say No, I’m excited?

The only difference between fear and excitement is your attitude about it.”– Tony Robbins

Write Your Own Story. Today, the vast majority of people are consumers not creators. Followers rather than leaders; They spend way too much time being influenced by Social Media. The more “likes” they get the happier they are. Do you want to win? Stop doing what the majority do and do the opposite! Play the game by your rules. Don’t listen to other peoples’ voices. Write your own story!

When writing the story of your life. Don’t let anyone else hold the pen.”-Rebel Thriver.

Start by getting up at 5am every day. Yes, join the 5am Club. Yes, it’s hard at first, its also cold, quiet and peaceful. Allowing you to have one hour before the race of the day starts to get all your thoughts ideas and body ready to do battle.

Now go win 2019. Let me know if you have what it takes.
